In Hamlet, he has great love for his father. The way he felt about his mother after she married his uncle, the way that he hated his uncle. Hamlet thought very highly of his father, he once called him Hercules, because he thought he was like a God to him. He thought he was an excellent king and had great love and respect for him.

Hamlet once said in the poem to his mother, “Seems, madam? Nay, it is. I know not seems.  suspiration of forced breath,  havior of the visage,  Together with all forms, modes, shapes of grief,(85)  That can denote me truly. These indeed seem,  For they are actions that a man might play;  But I have that within which passeth show,  These but the trappings and the suits of woe.

He loved his father so much that he would do whatever it took to get his revenge for his father. The love that he had for his fahter I think was good love, he cared for him so much that he would go to great ends to do what was right. Hamlet was not one all there in the head but he knew what he wanted, revenge for his father death, after his uncle killed him.
